Lavender Wedding

When I first saw the colors of this wedding I thought it was going to look ridiculous in our reception ballroom. However, it actually turned out really neat because they incorporated other colors with the lavender.
This couple was very hands-on, DIY kind of people.
The father had some kind of anxiety disorder and was super nervous about the ceremony, but of course at Bel-Wood it turned out perfect!

I love this idea!

The purple looked great on the arch!

Our pastry chef made this cake and I think it turned out great!

Five on Friday Link- Up

Today I am linking up for the Five on Friday over at The Good Life Blog.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

One
I need to get back in the gym! It has been calling my name but I skipped it completely this week do to my low, flat arches giving me feet problems!! Enough with the excuses already!

Two
We have another wedding at Bel-Wood tomorrow and I am super excited!! They have a purple color scheme and the weather is suppose to be beautiful.

Three
I actually have one day off this week!! Usually I work 7 days a week between my job at Old Navy and my internship but Sunday is all mine. I am so relieved to have a break and enjoy my Sunday with church and relaxation!

Four
Right now I am currently obsessed with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban's new songs.
However, I am not a huge fan of the Taylor Swift part in Tim's song.
Check them both out, they are great summer hits.

Five
My cousin, Houston, and his wife just moved to Germany this past week for the Air Force. That takes a lot of courage and strength and I admire them for taking that leap of faith and moving out of their comfort zone. It is such a hard thing to do without any family or friends around in a new country but they certainly have a lot of support here at home. We are hoping to be able to visit them sometime when they get settled and have explored the country a little.

Wedding / Gee Retirement

This past weekend we had yet another wedding held at Bel-Wood.
The theme at this wedding was pink! And wine....lots of wine!
The weather was calling for rain but we were lucky that it held out and had a rain-free ceremony!

The bridal suite after the wedding...messy, messy!

In other news, The Ohio State University's President Gordon Gee is retiring.
One of the things that I wanted to do before I left Ohio State was get the infamous picture with him. I have seen him around campus a couple of times but never had the opportunity for a photo op.
Unfortunately I will never be able to get that photo and I am sad to see him go.
I think he was a great University President, making sure to say hi to students around campus and make them feel welcomed. It is very hard to feel important in a large school but I think Gee was very personal and tried his hardest to make students feel as though they mattered at OSU.
The thing that I will most miss about Gordon Gee, other than making the students feel included, is his various printed bow ties!! Here are a few of my favorites...Dr. Gee, you will be missed!

Penguins, Glitter, & Pink

Weddings are happening every weekend at Bel-Wood, which is great because they are my favorite!
Let's just say that this wedding was a little stressful!
I am happy that I got through it and was relieved when everything turned out okay.
How cute is this?

The decorations were so cute and very pink!!
This wedding was very detailed and had a Disney theme through out the entire room.
The bride and groom were going to Disney World for their honeymoon and she was a Disney Princess fan, especially Belle.
The centerpieces were inspired from Beauty and the Beast, as well as their personalized monogram on the dance floor.
The candy bar was one of my favorite aspects of the event.
There were little, personalized bags on the side to put the candy in, which was a cute touch.

Love is sweet, take a treat!

The napkins were tied in little bows, which is by far my favorite fold! The bride also hand glued pink glitter onto 130 charger plates for her reception. Personally I loved this little feature, mainly because I love glitter!!
They looked really classy and fun!

Love the Minnie name tag and glittered charger
I am beginning to see how much back-lighting really can transform a room into something completely different and beautiful.
There were a couple of things that I would have changed. For example, the wedding cake seemed like a birthday cake for a little girl! It was over the top and too childish, in my opinion.

There was also a lack of flowers, which really would have transformed the room even more!
Overall I think this wedding was one of the best I have seen and I am happy to have been apart of the bride and groom's special day.

The limo is even pink with a pink carpet!

What I would do with $600 Million

The Powerball Jackpot has reached $600 Million, becoming the second largest jackpot in U.S. history, and continues to grow.
I was listening to the radio this afternoon and they had a couple of questions for their viewers. If you won the Jackpot, would you go into work on Monday? and What would your first purchase be?

I gave it some thought and concluded that I would not go into work on Monday and would inevitably quit Old Navy, but I would still hold onto my internship at Bel-Wood.
I am the type of person who gets bored..very quickly. I am always searching for things to do that will keep me busy. If I won the Jackpot I would probably still finish school in order to pursue a career in event planning.
It seems as thought most jobs today require some type of degree and if I won, I would still want to have a job even if it was part time.

My first purchase would either be a new car (Ashton Martin) or plane tickets out of the country!
I am a traveler at heart and I would love to just take off for the summer and see the world.
It would be amazing to have the chance to explore other countries without financial constrains and I hope to one day make that into a reality.

Enough day dreaming and back to reality...tomorrow we have a class reunion event and Katie, my boss, is out of town for her cousin's wedding!!
So that means I will be the leader and guide for the servers and any guests concerns. Tim, the owner, will be at the event as well but I am still a little nervous...and excited!!
