It's Wedding Season!!

It is officially wedding season and Bel-Wood held their first ceremony and reception this past weekend.
Friday night the bridal party arrived for their rehearsal. Everything went great, except for the rain which caused us to have the run-through inside instead of outside, where the ceremony actually takes place.
Friday night I was so excited to see the bride and groom and to finalize table settings and decor.

When the big day arrived, it was smooth sailing.
I arrived early and helped set up and make sure everything was prepared for the actual event.
We made sure everything was perfect as we anxiously awaited for the bridal party to make their way onto the property.
When I saw the bride in her gown, I almost lost it (I absolutely love weddings). She was beautiful and you could tell she was nervous. Honestly I can say she was one of the most calm and easy going brides I have ever seen.
Guests started arriving about 40 minutes before the ceremony, and unfortunately had to wait in the lobby a while due to the cold weather!
We were counting our blessing that the rain held off and even saw the sun come through the clouds a little.
When all of the guests were seated, we started lining everyone up to walk down the isle.

While the ceremony was taking place, we were inside lighting the candles on the tables and the servers were putting water glasses out.
The ceremony soon ended and the guests made their way into the ballroom, where appetizers were served.
The bridal party was announced and the party began!
The DJ was from the radio station 103.5 and knew how to get the guests on their feet.
One of my favorite parts of the night was the anniversary dance with all the married people in attendance. One couple had been married for 55 years!!
I hope to one day have a marriage that lasts that long.
Overall, Bel-Wood had a successful kickoff to their wedding season!

Here are some pictures to enjoy from the bride and groom's special day!

Weekend Recap

I have had such a busy weekend!
Friday I helped to set up a Rehearsal dinner at Bel-Wood. The theme was Cinco de Mayo and it was so colorful!
The men had their bachelor party the night before, went golfing during the day, had the Rehearsal dinner that night and then the wedding on Saturday! That just seems like a lot of craziness in a matter of 48 hours.
Regardless, they seemed to be having a good time and I was excited for them! A wedding is such a beautiful thing, I know I certainly enjoy them.

Saturday Ben and I went to The Kentucky Derby! It rained almost the entire time we were there..but more on that tomorrow!

Sunday I finished my rhinestone letters and I love them, mainly because of all the bling on them!

Today I am starting my half-marathon training. I really do not have a race in mind to train for, but I just wanted to start something and be able to hold myself accountable this summer. I am trying to create a routine that I can stick with and build toward.

First Day of Summer

This past weekend was my first weekend home for the summer!
We stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way home from school and it was so delicious! Their featured donut this month is Key Lime!

I also interned at Bel-Wood where we had an "Opening Night" for the members. The theme was Las Vegas with lots of food and fun for the members! I even had the opportunity to meet Jim, who started the international market in Cincinnati, Jungle Jims.  I am really enjoying the events but have not started to do the day-to-day planning. I start this Wednesday and I am anxious to learn everything about this business.

Today was my first official day of Summer! I went shopping and to the gym, nothing too exciting.
I am the type of person who constantly needs to be doing something. Thankfully I hope to have a full schedule with work this summer, but I am still hoping to do some crafting! Here are a couple of ideas that I am trying to get working on to stay busy. I really like the sparkle letters!

I have a lot of events planned this summer, including going zip-lining for my birthday! I am ready to relax and enjoy the warm weather..if it ever starts to warm up!

Summer Internship

With this week being finals, I thought it would be nice to share some exciting news!
I can officially announce that I will be an intern with Bel-Wood Country Club as an "Event Planner".
With my major being in Public Affairs, I can really step into any career dealing with the public.
I would eventually love to work for a nonprofit, such as St. Jude's Children's, working as an event coordinator for the fundraisers, events, etc.
I am so excited about this opportunity and ready to learn the ropes.

This past Friday and Saturday I worked my first events, one was even a prom! I loved seeing all the girls in their dresses, it takes me back to high school.

Ben also has an internship this summer, with Congressman Mike Turner, working in his district office.
I am so proud of him and I know that he will do great things!
