With finals quickly approaching, I find it a perfect time to reflect on this past semester and look forward to what is to come.
Since January a lot has happened, both positive and negative.
My boyfriend, Ben, lost one of his best friends in February. It was a challenging time for him, but thankfully he was able to come out stronger due to his faith in God.
My beloved aunt got married to the man of her dreams!! It was such a beautiful wedding and it was amazing to see my family all dressed up! Her son, who was in Virginia for tech school for the Air Force, was able to make a surprise visit and be apart of the wedding.
I have recently joined a sorority, Delta Delta Delta. At first I was a little concerned with all the typical "stereotypes" a sorority girl has. But I have found that it is nothing like what everyone thinks.
I have made a lot of new friends, some that will last a lifetime. I am throughly enjoying the process of transitioning from a pledge to a new member and discovering everything that this wonderful organization has to offer me.
In March I went on spring break with Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity, to Miami, Florida for Habitat for Humanity. After a great few days of snorkeling and exploring everything Miami had to offer, the last day we were devastated to find a couple of smashed car windows and purses stolen.
I was so upset! We were headed to a baseball game and shopping downtown after our workday and therefore I thought it was a good idea to take my purse...with my drivers license, $200 in cash, and 3 credit cards! Luckily, I had my cell phone on the Habitat truck and was able to call my mom to cancel everything. I won't say this ruined the trip, but it certainly put a sour taste in my mouth about Miami in general. After a 20 hour ride back to Ohio, I was counting my blessings to be back home!
